2-4 Winecellar Entry, Belfast, BT1 1QN
There’s a lot of jostling about town for the title of ‘Belfast’s oldest bar’ but White’s makes its case pretty convincingly. The first tavern license in Belfast was granted in 1630 to the building of White’s Tavern, or so the story goes.
Centuries on, White’s is still going strong; with its cosy traditional downstairs bar serving up traditional Irish food and a new, more contemporary offering up above. ‘Upstairs at White’s…’ has been given a fresh new name (Vandal Belfast) and look. Expect pizza, cocktails and boozy shakes. Whether it’s the old or new part that takes your fancy, you’ll find a great selection of whiskey on both floors.
