Bittle’s Bar was opened in 1989 and is widely recognised as one of Northern Ireland’s most distinctive bars. Originally constructed in 1868 and called “The Shakespeare”, reflecting its theatrical clientele Bittle’s Bar is unique due to its “flat-iron” shape. Beyond it’s shape the bar is noted for an inspiring selection of artwork celebrating Ireland’s literary and sporting heroes including Samuel Beckett, James Joyce, W B Yeats, Oscar Wilde, George Best, Alex Higgins and Barry McGuigan, plus some of Northern Ireland’s most famous politicians.
